Well PC means more than “personal computer”. As the term is a shortened way of saying, IBM compatible personal computer. Which until Apple switched to Intel processors in 2006 it wasn’t. But now yes a mac has the same infrastructure as a PC the only difference is the OS.
PC’s are for people who have the time or money to make their machines what they want them to be. Alot of the problems with vista is that they tried to upgrade it onto their old machines which weren’t powerful enough to run it. Windows Vista is a fine operating system. I built my computer from scratch with hardware powerful enough to run it and have never had it crash or had any problems with it and I have had it for 2 years now. I liked the Mac ad’s their pretty funny.
What new PCs? Or did you mean OS? What OS, then?
Oh, and Mac OS X is 64-bitted.
Don’t say stuff like “Ubuntu>Anything”. I am a happy user of Unix and GNU/Linux-based systems, but there is no “omnipotent OS”. For example, Unix and GNU/Linux-based systems may be user-friendly, but then they’re very selective with whom to be friends with. Well, except Mac OS X, Apple did a damn good job in making a Unix system user friendly.
Time Machine is user friendlier than Shadow Copy/Previous Versions. In XP it was quite hidden, nearly nobody knew about it.
Tell me the lies in other Apple ads, please.
Oh, and my old printer doesn’t work in OS X, too, it works in XP, I don’t know if it works in Vista. Got a new one.
“Decide For Yourself” eh? I decided to go Mac/Linux years ago. The same shit that made Windows 95 shit is still in Vista. Want an example? the same old useless DLLs are still shitting all over Vista.
Well, I don’t know about this development stuff.
Anyway, you’re not supposed to do graphics on a MacBook, MacBooks aren’t for prosumers, they are for consumers only. If you want to do graphics Apple wants you to get a MBP.
In Us MBP might be a solution for graphics in europe for the price of apple you can get awesome laptop from dell or sony (at least in switzerland), well youre from germany so its prolly be more or less same
well the problem is that making 64 bit program for windows is extremely simple, you just “press a button” and its done while for mac you have to rewrite the program completely
and MacBook with 6bit LCD thats really bad, you can hardly do any graphics there
Windows Vista SP1 don’t really have that much issues, really, Microsoft shouldn’t have shipped Vista before the SP1 build.
These doofus in the Mojave experiment must be using XP on a P3(Katmai version, mind you) machine, cause Vista is no way, a faster or smoother OS.
Mac? why would I want one? Can’t play many games on it… Linux can take care of whatever windows can’t anyway, so there..
Then why, pray tell, would I buy a macintosh machine if i’m going to install windows on it anyway, might as well use the extra money for upgrades. The peripheral devices are not a factor for my displeasure, since both ARE technically PCs, it’s the OSes themselves.
I would be wasting previous money on a mac for features I won’t be using (ain’t a designer). I could easily build up a PC with windows installed on it without any hassle and the cost is cheaper too.
The Mac ads seem like normal marketing ads. Pointing out the good in your own product while ignoring the good in a competitor’s product, and even focusing on their negatives.
The Mojave Experiment just kind of points out that Vista has had such a bad reputation that Microsoft has to trick people into thinking it’s something else before they’ll like it.
My friend’s scanner was 2 years old.
The scanner I bought in 2001 (when we bought it with our windows ME machine) works fine in Leopard.
Okay, the companies should make decent drivers, but why is it when I plug something into my Mac it works? I don’t need to go surf the internet for drivers.
I found somewhat truth in those vids.
Yes, I have heard of the Backup feature. Hell, I worked with XP since 2002 till last year. I just prefer my mac.
Bye. (I don’t intend on starting a war)
apple knows exactly what its doing, its marketing to the idiots who know nothing about computers and are willing to pay more for something to feel good about themselves.
apple wins this one, although deceptive, I’m still sticking with my Windows PC’s

mac are just marketing to the unconscious.
the first commercial for example.
politics is regarded as boring and very tacky in the USA. This stigma is applied to the PC character.
The PC character is always presented as an uncool nerd. You associate your unconscious desire of being cool, with owning a mac.
PC adapts one of the most famous presidential speeches from decades ago. This applies to how behind the times PC is.
apple fill the fuck out of theirs ads with subconscious cues.

You just can’t judge a book by looking at it cover
August 22nd, 2008 at 8:16 pm
So you are blaming Vista for not having drivers for god knows how old your friend’s scanner cannot function?
Wow, I bet that scanner works perfectly with Leapord i assume?
Stop blaming the OS, and blame the company that makes that crap scanner to produce a decent driver.
Most of those Apple Ads are a LIE!
TimeMachine? Obviously you haven’t heard of the Vista Backup Feature that has been there since the XP days.

It’s called PR and marketing, man. Other companies do the same.

My two cents at least.
